With the arrival of patch 2.0.3, the Maxroll team is now ready to present their insights, discoveries, and feedback regarding the Vessel of Hatred.


This marks an exciting phase for players as they delve into the new content!

As anticipated, the new standout in the game is Mighty Throw, leaving all other builds in the dust.


Surprisingly, it's not just the top Barbarian build; it also ranks among the best overall builds this season, with the notable exception of the non-existent Spiritborn class.


Currently, Mighty Throw has achieved an impressive Pit 114 clear, marking the highest non-Spiritborn achievement in Season 6 to date.


With continuous discoveries and enhancements emerging daily, there’s no doubt that this build is still evolving.


While Mighty Throw shines brightly, what about the other builds? Dust Devil-based Whirlwind, Rupture Leapquake, and Double Swing (the one you include just to access Ring of Starless Skies) were once favored, alongside Thorns and Bash.


However, these builds share a crucial flaw—they lack the overpower potential. This has led to a lukewarm reception, particularly since overpower damage currently dominates the game.


The prevailing sentiment is clear: if a build isn't overpower, it risks being considered underpowered.


So, how do Death Blow, Upheaval, and Hammer of the Ancients fare? They are indeed overpower builds, yet they struggle to compete due to the sheer might of Mighty Throw.


The setups for these builds are often interchangeable with slight modifications, suggesting that they lack uniqueness.


In the end, they simply cannot match the overwhelming strength of Mighty Throw, making it difficult to recommend them.


Thus, we must lament for all the builds that fall short of Mighty Throw's prowess.Druid builds are currently showcasing impressive parity, with five distinct setups closely ranked within a mere six pit tiers. The builds in contention include hurricane, boulder, shred, companion, and landslide, all falling within tier ratings of 98 to 104. Among these, hurricane and boulder have emerged as the frontrunners, likely due to their superior utilization of overpower mechanics. This trend mirrors what we see with the top builds of spiritborn, necromancer, and barbarian classes, where effective use of overpower allows for deeper progression into the pits. Notably, the revised hunter's zenith has proven to be a formidable asset for druids, often matching legendary rings that boast over 50% aspects in builds focused on rapid attacks or consistent shapeshifting.


Further down the list, pulverize and lightning storm present themselves as viable choices for endgame content. Their area-of-effect capabilities facilitate efficient speed farming, although their single-target damage leaves something to be desired in specific encounters. While lightning storm and tornado share similar aspects and mechanics, tornado tends to perform slightly slower or less effectively due to the stormchaser's tax. Newcomer stone burst has yet to make any significant strides, and as an earth skill that struggles with overpower, it will require additional support to keep pace with the current meta.


The performance of wind shear paired with calm breeze has suffered significantly, likely due to updates in weapon damage, making it nearly unadvisable for leveling. Additionally, the reworked greatstaff of the crone has not been sufficient to revive stormclaw. However, there is potential for a build incorporating fleshrender, so stay alert for updates on that front!


Moving to the sorcerer class, the previously dominant lightning spear build remains robust, despite undergoing four nerfs. Although it doesn’t match the former power of the fractured winterglass setup, the current lightning spear sorcerer still excels in area-of-effect damage and maintains solid single-target performance. Interestingly, the most significant nerf stemmed from a server stability fix that inadvertently affected damage output. The change to splintering energy now restricts its triggering to every 0.2 seconds, causing crits from lightning spears during this cooldown to boost the damage of the next splintering energy trigger. While this adjustment was designed to reduce overall damage numbers, it has created an unexpected challenge in scenarios where enemies surround the sorcerer, as the spears struggle to distribute damage effectively across multiple targets, resulting in overkill in localized areas.In the realm of build diversity, the Frozen Orb stands out, benefiting from an undocumented enhancement to its aspect.


The Fireball Sorcerer deserves a special mention as well; it has been observed to occasionally inflict damage far exceeding expectations. While this might stem from a bug, it undeniably places Fireball among the top contenders for Sorcerer builds, rivaling or even surpassing Lightning Spear.


Overall, the Sorcerer class remains in a decent position, especially when not compared to Spiritborn.

The Necromancer is thriving this season, with most of its builds categorized within S tier and high A tier, excelling in both pit pushing and speed-farming scenarios.


The recent "stat squish" has had an interesting effect on Overpower builds, allowing the Necromancer to leverage this mechanic effectively across numerous core skills, resulting in impressive crits when compared to other classes. If you can activate Overpower, this season rewards you significantly.


Builds such as Bone Spirit, Spirit Wave, Soulrift, Minions, Blood Lance, Blood Surge, Blood Wave, and Sever have all successfully cleared above tier 90 in the pit. This means players can enhance these builds to reach character levels and glyphs up to 100 solo, with many capable of exceeding tier 100 with optimal endgame gear.


Utilizing the Banished Lord's Talisman alongside Bone Spirit to trigger Overpower on the next core skill has notably boosted previously weaker builds like Sever. Although a bug prevents Sever from doubling its damage currently, the developers are aware of the issue. Nevertheless, it can still achieve damage figures exceeding 3 billion, even at high pit tiers.


Unfortunately, damage-over-time builds have not fared as well this season. On a positive note, the Infinimist build has regained the ability to maintain 100% uptime of Blood Mist with suitable endgame gear. Our aim is to push these builds to their limits and provide the development team with vital feedback and insights for potential enhancements.


Our Necromancer team has expanded to include Seroc and Lordxsaura, who are diligently testing some of the most prominent meta builds for all Necromancer enthusiasts. We are also exploring new techniques to revive Bone Spear's effectiveness.

Rogue Builds and Spiritborn Class

The "spin2win" strategy has captured the attention of players who do not opt for the spiritborn class, establishing itself as the premier speed-farming build for rogues. While it may not excel in the pit pushing domain—where "rapid fire" seems to dominate—it remains an enjoyable choice. With the introduction of innovative grenade techniques, this build can still efficiently reach glyphs at the 100 mark. Initially, there was a focus on "victimize" variants, but the community has largely transitioned to using "momentum" in the "dance of knives," reserving "victimize" for builds like "barrage" and "heartseeker," which are also seeing a surge in popularity.


On the other hand, "twisting blades" has fallen behind as its primary scaling mechanisms—"alchemical admixture" and "close quarters combat"—have faced significant nerfs. Conversely, "flurry" is performing reasonably well and may also reach pit 100 with further optimization. Unfortunately, many players have found "andariel's visage" to be less effective due to its added internal cooldown. However, the "victimize barrage" build operates similarly to how "andariel's barrage" functioned in season 5, making it a viable option for those who enjoyed that playstyle.


The spiritborn class had an impressive start, showcasing a wide array of highly effective builds that outperform those of other classes, particularly at higher levels. However, this strength is largely attributed to two significant bugs within the class. Players can stack block chance extensively by utilizing "max resolve stacks tempers" alongside the "interdiction" aspect, enhancing damage from "interdiction" beyond the 100% block cap. Most builds, excluding those focused on thorns, leverage this combination, resulting in damage outputs that are multiples stronger than intended. Additionally, the "viscous shield" paragon node is also bugged, providing an unintended damage boost by multiplying its effect based on the ratio of maximum life to base life, making it roughly 20-40 times more effective than normal.


When optimized, these two issues amplify damage output by a factor of 10-30, placing the spiritborn class well above expectations and leaving other classes unable to compete without similar game-breaking glitches. While this is exhilarating for spiritborn players at the moment, they should brace for potential bug fixes in future patches, possibly by midseason or in season 7. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that most builds will continue to perform admirably compared to other classes even after these adjustments.
