What is it that makes video games generally so awful?

The films that are based on video games do not have the best review rating because they most of the time they're made by aspiring to make money rather than quality, as per Legendary Pictures' Thomas Tull who is the producer of the forthcoming WoW Cataclysm Classic Gold movie based on Blizzard Entertainment's cult fantasy series.

"Doing video games hasn't been done properly and I believe that one of the reasons for this is that it's been made for the wrong reasons," Tull told IGN. "If you just ask "How numerous people played this game? What is the maximum amount we can earn?' You're doomed. Your fate is set from the beginning."

Tull obviously claims that WoW Cataclysm Classic will be unique, thanks due to the direction of Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) as well as the cast he's managed to put together.

"We hope that when you view the first film you'll think "Ok, this isn't what I expected.' The filmmaker is incredibly interesting," Tull said.

Tull is trying to sell people on the notion of this WoW Cataclysm Classic movie will be great, but the audience will decide for themselves once the first release. If asked about when it's due to release, Tull said, "We regularly attend Comic-Con and really enjoy it and the fans appear to like looking at the world which is why I'm not at all surprised."

At Comic-Con last summer, Jones showed off a mood piece from WoW Cataclysm Classic. WoW Cataclysm Classic movie, however, the video hasn't been made public. We've seen images of the set of the film however, that's all we've seen until now. In the end, Tull offered a tease regarding the plot of WoW Cataclysm Classic, suggesting that it closely follows two tribes.

"With an outstanding casting, there's lots of characters to follow, and I'd like to look at it more closely due to the number of skilled people involved in the project," he said. "We're conscious of the idea that, in the legends of WoW Cataclysm Classic, there are two tribes - two big things to keep in mind. We believe you'll be able to take a examine both."

Tull did not provide further details however it's possible that both groups that he's talking about could be Orcs as well as Humans. Jones previously stated that the film would center on the story of the beginning of the conflict that took place between Orcs as well as Humans.

WoW Cataclysm Classic hits theaters in March of 2016.

While films that are made based on video games don't have a very good review track record however, the same cannot be said about the potential commercial appeal of such films. For instance, the most recent Need for Speed movie bombed in the eyes of critics, yet it made money in less than two weeks.

In a financial conference after earnings today, Activision Blizzard announced that buy WoW Cataclysm Classic Gold slated to release its upcoming expansion called Warlords of Draenor is already selling 1 million copies as a result of pre-purchases.
